Applying for a research grant
2010 Research Award
Type of award
Project Grant.
Aim
Limited research into pancreatic cancer in the past has meant that there are many aspects of the disease requiring further investigation and study. Given that detecting and diagnosing pancreatic cancer are still major challenges, and given the need for more effective treatments, the charity is making these its priority areas for research funding for the time being. Basic and translational research proposals are, therefore, of particular interest.
Amount of award
Up to £150,000. The award can cover salary or research costs, or a mixture of both.
Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is an NIHR Partner Organisation, ensuring that
studies we accept for funding will be eligible for inclusion in the NIHR Clinical
Research Network Portfolio. This will allow the studies to have access to clinical
infrastructure/NHS Service Support through the NIHR Clinical Research Networks.
Duration
Up to three years
Restrictions
- The main applicant must be a suitably qualified researcher (minimum of PhD or equivalent qualification or research experience).
- The principal applicant should be based in a UK research group or institution, although proposals involving collaboration with a researcher or researchers outside the UK will be considered.
Timetable and Application Procedure
The 2010 Award Round is now closed. The 2011 Award will be advertised in January.
