Remembering Joe Butler

Joe Butler, a founding member of Liverpool’s iconic country band the Hillsiders and country music radio broadcaster, passed away on May 3, 2007.

Joe Butler was vocalist and bass player with the Hillsiders and remained with the group for almost 30 years.

In tribute to Joe Butler, who died of pancreatic cancer in May 2007, the Americana organisers have made Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund their official charity for the 2008 event.

Donations to the charity can be made during the festival to PCRF representatives, who will also be pleased to give further information about the charity and its work.
