Again this year, the Great South Run lived up to its reputation of a wet weather event, but this didn't deter the thousands who were taking part in this highly popular 10 mile run. Among them were PCRF supporters Matthew Brennen, Anna and Matthew Fox, Chris Lewis, Tim Lunn (with daughters Bonnie and Tasmin in the Junior run), Andy Moore and Amanda Walden.
A formal road race was a new experience for Amanda, but the very recent death of her father from pancreatic cancer made her determined to take it on to raise money for more research. She told us, "I made it! I completed the run in 98 mins approx. The weather was awful and I started out with wet feet from the rain! I really enjoyed it, though, and was so pleased to be running in memory of my dad and for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. I have the running bug now and am planning the next run to help raise more funds!"
