"On June 6th 2007, our dad died of pancreatic cancer at the young age of 58. To help raise awareness and help fund the research for this disease the Drummond family have held two fund raising events since his death.
"My sisters (Susan and Lynsey) completed a free fall parachute jump back in August 2007 (I wasn't brave enough to join in) and most recently, my mum, Janet, and I walked the West Highland Way, starting June 19th 2008 (to make up for bottling the jump).
"The walk is 95 miles from Milgavnie to Fort William, with stunning scenery on the way. The weather was excellent and the midges weren't too aggressive. The walk was completed in six days, the blisters healed in six weeks. The walk was very challenging but very enjoyable. Would we do it again?......No, the pain was too much!"
With sponsorship, plus money raised by friends from Munro climbing, second-hand book sales and an open-house event, Janet and Scott raised a fantastic £2,500 in total. Susan and Lynsey raised over £1,200 from their skydive.
