Cycle Ride

London to Paris

June 2007

Lost in France?

The Brown sisters - Clodagh, Karen, Linda and Vanessa took on the challenge of cycling the 290 miles from London to Paris in four days in memory of their mother Linda, who died of pancreatic cancer early in 2006. The full story and photos from the trip can be seen on their website together with the latest update on the truly magnificent total raised. They were joined by Louise Deslongrais, a friend of Linda's, who has also raised a huge sum.

Made it!

They had an early start, 6:30 on Blackheath Common, ready for the off at 7:15. "All we had to do now", Vanessa says, "was cycle for four days, making sure we followed the orange signs that were conveniently positioned at road turnings, all the way to Paris....easy!!". You can read about the intervening four days and judge for yourself. Vanessa says "Despite me falling on Place de la Concorde, our escort vehicle being pulled in by the police and Louise's near miss with a tour bus, after 300 miles, we made it to the Eiffel Tower! Despite the tough days and some pretty horrendous weather conditions, we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and met some really great people along the way".
