Enid Webster, left, with Nadine Woodcock
|
Nadine Woodcock lost her best friend Enid Webster to pancreatic cancer in January 2006, just a few weeks after the disease was diagnosed. Nadine decided to organise a charity evening to raise funds for PCRF in memory of her friend. More than 200 people packed into the local village club for the event, which included entertainment from a comedy band, a disco with DJ, hot-pot supper, raffle and auction. Writing to us afterwards, Nadine said, "It was a full house. We raised £1,000 from the raffle alone thanks to the brilliant support of Enid's friends and family, as well as many local businesses. I was hoping to raise £3,000 but to make this much money (£4,425) for research into pancreatic cancer is great."
