Flora London Marathon

London

April 2008

Fidelma Atkinson, Sonia Blackford, Darren Clark, Wayne Durrant, Alison Galloway, Sean Gundry, Lisa Hudson and Mark Smith joined the thousands of other runners in the 2008 London Marathon, to run in aid of PCRF. Some were experienced marathon runners; others were first-timers. All completed the course and raised a fantastic sum for pancreatic cancer research.

Alison told us afterwards, "I had a fantastic day and stopped my watch at 4 hours 38 minutes as I crossed the finish line. The support from the crowd was very uplifting." Lisa was a first-timer - "Had the most amazing day, and completed in 4 hours and 42 seconds. Slightly slower than I wanted, but it was a fabulous experience." Wayne finished the race in 3 hours 22 minutes and declared himself "really happy with the time and the way the run went." Darren fended off illness and injury to take part. He told us, "The few weeks before the run were touch and go, with shin splints then a cold with only a week to go till the run."
