Trek
Peru
September 2007
Anoushka Cecil decided to combine her dream of walking the Inca Trail with raising money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. She told us, “I have always wanted to climb the Inca Trail in Peru and on 28th September I’m going to be doing just that in memory of my wonderful father who died of pancreatic cancer in November 2000. He was just 57 years old. I’m hoping to raise as much as I can to fund research into this terrible disease which has also claimed the lives of one of my aunts and one of my uncles.

Afterwards, Anoushka gave her verdict. “It was a tough few days…often breathless and with headache…and climbing to altitudes of 4,500 metres above sea level. Sadly, some of the group were really sick from the altitude, so making it to the end was a huge achievement for all who took part. The scenery was breathtaking, the other people on the trek were amazing, and the whole experience was one of the best of my life. Something I will remember for ever and something my father would have been extremely proud of me for achieving.”
