Tandem skydive

Salisbury

August 2006

In 2005, Peter Saunders was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but fortunately he was one of the 10-15% of those diagnosed whose cancer is operable. He underwent a Whipples Procedure, and was given the all clear. Peter volunteered to talk to other patients facing the same operation at the hospital where he was treated. One of these was Emma Knox. Peter said, "We stayed in touch through her surgery, which was also successful." Emma had thought of doing a skydive for charity if her operation was successful, and her work colleagues had told her they would sponsor her. Peter confessed, "It kept playing on my mind and I was talked into doing one as well! I put it down to a mad, impetuous moment, but I found it most enjoyable."
