Tandem Skydive

Cockermouth

November 2007

Chris Fenton and his wife

Christine Fowler has supported the charity since the death of her husband in February 2005. Not content with making and selling her hand-crafted greetings cards in aid of PCRF, Christine persuaded a colleague to do a tandem skydive to raise sponsorship for the charity. She wrote to tell us, "Chris Fenton, an employee of BAE Systems, took part in a Tandem Skydive in aid of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund on Sunday 11th November. The tandem skydive took place at an airfield in Cockermouth, near Lancaster".

Chris Fenton

"The day got off to a rocky start when wind and rain meant Chris had to stand around waiting to see if the weather improved sufficiently for the skydive to take place. However, good fortune prevailed and at midday he took to the skies and performed his first ever tandem skydive. He thoroughly enjoyed the experience – so much so, that he has vowed to do another skydive next summer when hopefully better weather conditions will result in a wonderful ‘bird’s eye’ view of our beautiful countryside".
