Tandem skydive

Salisbury

August 2006

Emma Knox was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July 2005. The cancer was found early enough for her to be operated on. She contacted the charity in early 2006 - "I underwent a Whipples procedure and I consider myself very lucky as I have now been given the all-clear." While in hospital, Emma decided that once she was fully fit, she would like to do a parachute jump.

She wrote - "I am really determined to do this. It is one thing I promised myself lying in that hospital bed - to do something if I got through it. Now I'm back at work and have lots to be grateful for. If I can raise funds to help anyone else then I'm doing it."

To publicise her jump for the charity and raise awareness of the disease, Emma was able to organise an interview on her local radio station.

Afterwards, she wrote - "Had a fantastic day - I jumped around midday - dodging bad weather - but had a marvellous instructor and had a fab day!"
