Ryan B releases debut single in aid of PCRF

29 May 2014

Leeds singer/songwriter Ryan Boyle has achieved his dream of producing a charity record in aid of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and in tribute to his mum.

Ryan, 30, lost his mum, Mena Byrne, to the disease in 2012 and says that before she died, Mena made him promise to follow his dream to pursue a career in music.

Ryan is working to produce an album of his self-penned work, and his debut single – Heaven’s Treasure – was released on 26 May. The track is available to download on iTunes, and all Ryan’s proceeds will be donated to PCRF.  Ryan’s video can also be seen on YouTube.

On top of Ryan’s hard work in the recording studio, he’s also been promoting his single with the support of the regional Yorkshire media, featuring in interviews on several radio stations and local newspapers and an appearance on ITV’s Calendar News programme, proudly wearing his PCRF sweatshirt.

“My mum was my best friend and will always be my inspiration for everything I do. I miss her so much, but I know that she’d be so proud to know that I’ve been fulfilling my promise to her and also raising money for PCRF too. It’s been hard work to get this far, but it’s also been a lot of fun. I’ve had lots of good feedback and lovely messages of support so far and I can’t wait to get back into the studio to work on my album!”

PCRF’s CEO Maggie Blanks said: “It takes a great deal of determination and talent to succeed in the music industry and Ryan certainly has both. The track is a lovely tribute to Mena and we’re very grateful to Ryan for his support.”
