Line Dance Club steps up 2012 fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund
18 December 2012Steps 'n' Stetsons, the Line Dance Club based in the Reading and Wokingham areas of Berkshire, generously chose PCRF as its charity of the year in 2012. Its members – aged from 10 to 80+ years old, and led by Julie Myers and Stephanie Stoter, have raised a magnificent £3914!
The money has been raised through a raft of events throughout the year, including a marathon sponsored walk, tea dances, coffee mornings, craft and cake sales, raffles and competitions, individual donations and a Christmas party, to name but a few. The Dance Club also appointed PCRF as its nominated charity to receive the proceeds from its recycling work with the national waste reduction programme, TerraCycle, with members collecting all manner of recyclable waste in exchange for cash. Their environmental efforts this year have added some £350 to their overall fundraising tally – and also won them second prize in a TerraCycle competition! In addition, the Club used the fruits of their recycling drive to inspire an aptly named ‘Olympic Re-cyclist’ entry in the local village ‘Scarecrow Trail’! (see photo)
Overall, a brilliant year for Steps’n’Stetsons charity fundraising, and we are hugely grateful for your support!
