On Your Way - details

On Your Way is a keepsake cookbook that you will want to frequently dip into - and adopt many of the delightful recipes to make over and over for family, friends and carefree entertaining.

Caroline Jeremy shares her eclectic collection of nearly 125 recipes from her native South Africa and extensive culinary journeys in Europe, North American and from her final destination of Great Britain.

The recipes are grouped chronologically and exude a sense of abundance and reveal the author’s passion for life and love for joyous gatherings around the table. Her heartwarming culinary memories are woven throughout the seven vibrantly coloured chapters - depicting hues reminiscent of her beloved South Africa.

Each chapter offers a range of starters, main courses, vegetables, salads and puddings. In addition, there are several basic recipes & techniques and a compilation of inspiring Menus from memorable occasions.

Caroline trained as a professional cook at the prestigious L’Ecole de Cuisine La Varenne in Paris and went on to make her professional mark in the UK as a founding director of the New Covent Garden Soup Company and at Green & Black’s, where she took on the rebranding of the luxury chocolate line. Caroline also authored highly acclaimed cookbooks for both companies, which were designed by Claire Fry - with whom she collaborated for On Your Way.

This cookbook was initially conceived as a companion for students as they left the family nest for university, and where they would have to navigate the kitchen on their own - thus the significance of the title.

Caroline was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July 2013 and succumbed to the disease in August 2015. Although she worked relentlessly on this book throughout her illness, it was completed by two of her friends and published posthumously by Class Publishing Ltd.
