Supporters Conferences

Telling supporters how their money is being used

We work hard to keep supporters informed about the research their donations are funding. One of the ways we do this is through the Supporters Conference, where PCRF-funded researchers present their projects to a supporter audience and answer questions.

2015 Supporters Conference

Supporters from all over the UK heard presentations from a range of researchers on their PCRF-funded research projects. This included work carried out at Manchester University, Barts Cancer Institute, Nottingham University, and UCL. The presentations described progress in early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, more effective treatments and ways to monitor the effectiveness of treatments through a 'liquid biopsy.' Delegates also heard about the National Pancreas Tissue Bank being funded by the charity. This is a significant contribution to the research infrastructure, providing an important resource of high quality pancreas tumour tissue, blood and urine for researchers to access for their future research.
